Quote from SAND-Homepage (Dez. 2017)

"Science and Nonduality provides a forum where preeminent scientists, philosophers, teachers, artists and a large, international community gather to explore and advance the new paradigm emerging in spirituality, that is both grounded in cutting-edge science and consistent with the ancient wisdom of nonduality — the deep understanding of the interconnectedness of life. ..."

In April 2010 we, Carola, Dirk and Engelbert, traveled to Tibet together with Dr. Erlendur Haraldsson, an Icelandic professor, to introduce Lucia N°03 to people with great spiritual and meditative experience.

In Lhasa, a meeting was arranged with Buchung Changlochen, who agreed to test Lucia N°03. Buchung is a grandson of the former Tibetan Foreign Minister, a long-time student of Lamrim Renpoche and comes from the family of the 11th Dalai Lama, St. Khedrub Gyatsho. Lucia N°03 was also thoroughly tested by Mr. Lhada, who has extensive experience in Tibetan dream yoga, and by Prof. Haraldsson.

I was very surprised at how open these spiritual people were to our meditation lamp, even describing it as a “shortcut” to the state of immersion. All three were very impressed by Lucia, especially by the intense color perceptions generated, which were equivalent to “seeing a mandala with closed eyes”. Mandalas are a particularly important component of meditation in Tibetan Buddhism.

After the Lucia N°03 session, Buchung Changlochen found that the lamp enabled him to focus his mind inwards with ease and block out everyday content. He also had the impression of leaving his body together with the colors. Lhada, who fell into a particularly deep trance after just a few minutes under the influence of Lucia N°03, reported a similar experience.

After the successful experiments in Lhasa, we devoted a few more days to researching the significance of the pineal gland in Tibetan Buddhism and in the much older shamanistic Bon tradition. The Dalai Lama's palace contains, among other things, calcified natural objects - presumably pineal glands from elephant brains, which are particularly revered as relics. This can be interpreted as an indication of the importance of this brain region as a central instance of spiritual experience. In the Bon tradition, the experience of enlightenment as a non-dual source of consciousness corresponds to the experience of a sphere of multicolored light.

The impressions of our test persons and ancient Tibetan knowledge support our thesis that the effect of Lucia N°03 can be seen in direct comparison to spiritual experiences. The hypnagogic light experience corresponds to deep meditation experiences.
